Rev. Dr. Hab. Jacek Leszek Łapiński, Prof. KUL, is a distinguished Polish theologian, philosopher, and biologist whose interdisciplinary work bridges science, philosophy, and theology. From early academic beginnings in Stalowa Wola, through military service and extensive theological formation, he has built a profound career in academia and church service. With over four decades of scholarly and pastoral experience, he has taught, led faculties, participated in national synods, and contributed significantly to ecological and philosophical thought across Poland.

🎓 Education
He earned his Master’s in Theology in 1985 from the Catholic University of Lublin, followed by a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Nature in 1996. He obtained a Habilitation in Philosophy in 2009 and an additional Ph.D. in Biology in 2015 from the Pedagogical University of Krakow. Most recently, he completed a Doctorate in Theological Sciences (Liturgics) in 2022. He also holds a Licentiate in Theology (2018), reflecting his rare triple-doctoral academic profile.
💼 Experience
Prof. Łapiński has taught at the Higher Seminary in Sandomierz since 1995 and has held roles at multiple institutions, including KUL, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, and Tarnów University. He served as Dean of several faculties, including the current Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology at KUL. He has held numerous academic, editorial, and administrative roles and has coordinated major university programs and events.

His research covers philosophy of nature, human ecology, philosophy of technology, environmental protection, theological cosmology, and ecological threats. His interdisciplinary lens uniquely integrates scientific, humanistic, and theological insights, especially in the context of eco-development, morphogenesis, and Christian liturgical cosmology.
🏅 Awards
He has received multiple Rector’s Awards (first, second, and third degree) from KUL for his scientific and organizational contributions. In 2008, he was named Honorary Canon and later Gremial Canon in 2015. For his military service, he was awarded the rank of Second Lieutenant by the Polish President in 2016. His impact has also been acknowledged through leadership roles in national academic societies.
