Dr. Kurthan Korutürk completed his undergraduate education in biology, driven by his passion for the environment and nature. He furthered his academic career with an MSc and PhD in Environmental Education and Management, focusing on climate crisis, environmental security, and environmental data analysis techniques such as SPSS and NVivo. His goal is to expand field research and contribute new insights to both academia and society.

Currently serving as a faculty member at Near East University in the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Dr. Korutürk is also the head of the 2-year Construction Technology Program. He has accumulated over five years of academic experience, including three years as an assistant professor, and is deeply involved in scientific research and field studies.

Dr. Korutürk’s research interests lie primarily in environmental education, climate change, and environmental security. His work includes assessing the ecological footprint of students, evaluating local community attitudes toward eco-tourism, and addressing the impact of climate change on regional environmental security, specifically in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkey.
