He pursued his passion further, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Geology from the University of Tebessa in June 1998, with another laudable mention. He then delved into the use of multi-band images and Geographic Information System (GIS) for estimating and mapping soil susceptibility to water erosion in semi-arid areas, with a case study of the Mellegue watershed. Subsequent studies involved discriminating geological and structural units of the Nememchas mountains using space technologies, and developing a methodology to support mining galleries in the Boukhadra underground mine. His ongoing PhD research explores mapping landslide risks in the Algerian-Tunisian border region, estimating and mapping water erosion and sediment transport in the Bousselam watershed, and conducting a multidimensional assessment of water erosion, sediment transport, and reservoir siltation in the Senegal River basin using Geomatics tools. 🏞️🌍
