๐ Dr. Giuseppe Meca obtained his PhD in Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences from the University of Pisa, completing his research between 2018 and 2022. Prior to this, he earned a Master’s Degree in Food Biosafety and Quality at the University of Pisa from 2015 to 2017. He began his academic journey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Catania, spanning from 2011 to 2015. His educational background reflects a deep-seated commitment to advancing knowledge in food science, biosafety, and environmental sustainability.

Dr. Monica Macaluso has a diverse background in Food Technology, spanning from her early research on bacteriocins from lactic acid bacteria for food preservation to her current focus on sustainable food packaging and circular economy practices. Her journey includes significant roles in sensory analysis of food products like oils and wines, and as a sensory judge. Monica’s doctoral research emphasized optimizing olive oil packaging and storage for sustainability. Currently, she contributes to the Horizon MSCA-RISE project TRACEWINDU, enhancing wine traceability through blockchain technology.
