Vitalii Pavlovich Babak, a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, is a distinguished Ukrainian scientist in technical sciences. He has over 600 scientific publications, including 15 monographs and 120 patents, and has guided numerous students towards advanced degrees in technical diagnostics. With a career spanning nearly five decades, Babak is known for pioneering contributions in energy, data measuring technology, and tribotechnical materials science.

Vitalii Babak graduated with honors from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1977, specializing in data measuring equipment. He later earned his PhD in 1981, followed by a Doctor of Technical Sciences (DScTech) in 1995. In recognition of his academic contributions, he was awarded professorship and subsequently became a corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine.

Professional Experience 🏛️

Vitalii Babak has held prominent positions throughout his career, from Rector of the National Aviation University (1998–2008) to his current role as Director of the General Energy Institute at NAS Ukraine since 2022. He also served as Deputy Minister of Education and Head of Accreditation in Ukraine, contributing significantly to academic and scientific advancement in the country.

Babak’s research focuses on energy, data measuring technologies, tribotechnical materials science, surface engineering, and nanotechnology. He established scientific schools in technical diagnostics and continues to lead advancements in these interdisciplinary fields.
