Dr. Elisabeta Negrău is an art historian specializing in Medieval Art and Architecture (BA 2002, MA 2004, PhD 2012). Her research focuses on Byzantine and post-Byzantine iconography, devotional practices, and social transformations, as well as the intersection of art and power in these traditions. She also studies the medieval and early modern art of Wallachia (14th–18th centuries). Her latest publications include chapters in Byzantine Heritages in South-Eastern Europe (Heidelberg, 2022) and The Routledge Handbook of Byzantine Visual Culture in the Danube Regions (London – New York, 2024). 📚🏛️🌟

Dr. Elisabeta Negrău is a distinguished expert in the international project “In Search of the Phanariot Abode: Aspects of Domestic Culture, Residential Architecture, and Court Life” at the Istanbul Research Centre, ANAMED Research Centre of Koç University, Turkey (2023-2025) 🏛️. Directed by Namık Günay Erkal and Melike Sumertaş, this project explores Phanariot cultural heritage. She also contributed as a key expert in the PN-III-P1-1.2.PCCDI-2017-0812 project at the G.
