Mr. Muhammad Furqan Zia | Communication System | Best Researcher Award
University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres | Canada
Mr. Muhammad Furqan Zia is a dedicated researcher in the field of wireless communications, artificial intelligence, and emerging network technologies, with a strong academic and professional journey spanning multiple countries and institutions. He is currently serving as a scientific researcher at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières, Canada, where he is working on a project funded by the National Science and Engineering Council of Canada, focusing on explainable AI-aided semantic communication to enhance the intelligence of physical and MAC layer designs. Prior to this, he contributed to a collaborative project between Vestel Electronics Corp. and Koç University in Turkey, funded by TÜBİTAK, where he designed innovative physical layer schemes for next-generation Wi-Fi and actively participated in IEEE standardization meetings. His earlier research at Antalya Bilim University concentrated on advanced non-orthogonal multiple access techniques and physical layer security models for 6G and beyond, resulting in several journal publications, conference papers, and a patent. He also gained industrial and academic experience at Aladin Solutions in Pakistan, working on security challenges in cognitive radio ad hoc networks. Mr. Muhammad Furqan Zia holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières, with coursework completed at Koç University, an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Antalya Bilim University, and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from DHA Suffa University. His expertise spans MATLAB, Python, circuit design, microcontrollers, and project management, complemented by teaching experience at Koç University. With multiple awards, scholarships, and international conference presentations, his work continues to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial applications in next-generation communication systems.
