Assist. Prof. Dr. Janet Leandro Marmolejo | Bacterial Microbiology | Research Excellence Award

Researcher | Postgraduate College | Mexico

Assist. Prof. Dr. Janet Leandro Marmolejo is a dynamic researcher and laboratory scientist with a robust focus on microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, and livestock production. Her research expertise spans animal parasitology, pathology, and sustainable livestock systems, with a particular interest in the secondary metabolism of bacterial strains and their pharmacological potential. She has led innovative projects, including the development of a biotechnological process for the synthesis of Ivermectin B1b using Streptomyces avermitilis through submerged fermentation, as well as studies on reproductive and productive indicators in buffalo and turkey populations. Assist. Prof. Dr. Janet Leandro Marmolejo work emphasizes the integration of microbiological, genetic, and biotechnological approaches to improve livestock health, productivity, and well-being while addressing challenges related to animal diseases and sustainable agricultural practices. She has contributed to standardizing analytical techniques for the verification of secondary metabolites, establishing bacterial strain collections, and optimizing biotechnological methodologies that form solid foundations for future research in microbiology and molecular biology. Assist. Prof. Dr. Janet Leandro Marmolejo actively disseminates her findings through peer-reviewed publications, scientific conferences, and seminars, and she participates as a volunteer reviewer and collaborator in multidisciplinary research projects. Her dedication extends to animal welfare, feed management, and practical applications of microbiological and genetic insights in agronomic systems, reflecting a commitment to advancing livestock science, sustainable animal production, and innovative biotechnological solutions within agricultural research.
